Irinjalakuda, June 28: In observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse, students of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Irinjalakuda, actively participated in awareness competitions conducted under the theme “Anti-Drug Schools.” The events were held in collaboration with the Thrissur Rural District Police, involving schools across the district through their School Protection Groups. At the school level, two competitions—Anti-Drug Awareness Drawing and Speech—were conducted, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students of Classes 5 to 12. The first and second place winners were selected and their details submitted to the District Police Headquarters via the respective Station House Officers (SHO) on June 23, 2025. The district-level award ceremony was held on June 28, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the MCP Convention Center, where the winners were honoured with certificates. The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Honourable Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice Professor R Bindu, Mr. Harishankar IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Thrissur and Mr. B. Krishnakumar IPS, District Police Chief, Thrissur Rural. The initiative served as a powerful platform to sensitize students on the dangers of drug use and to strengthen the message of a drug-free society. |
