Swachhata Pakhwada Activities at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Irinjalakuda

As part of Swachchata Pakhwada and in connection with “Swachch Bharat Divas”, the NSS volunteers of Bharatiya Vidyabhavan's Vidya Mandir, Irinjalakuda, organized a campus cleaning drive on 27th September 2025.
The programme commenced in the morning with an orientation session on the importance of cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental responsibility.

The Principal addressed the gathering, emphasizing the role of students in promoting the vision of a clean India.
Following the briefing, NSS volunteers, along with teachers, actively participated in cleaning various areas of the school campus.

The cleaning activities included:
1. Sweeping and removing litter from classrooms, corridors, and open spaces.
2. Collecting plastic waste and segregating biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials.
3. Cleaning the school garden and watering the plants to enhance the greenery of the campus.
4. Proper disposal of waste in designated bins, ensuring an eco-friendly approach.

The event witnessed wholehearted participation and instilled in students a sense of responsibility towards maintaining a clean and healthy environment. Volunteers worked with enthusiasm, demonstrating the spirit of teamwork and service.

The programme concluded with a pledge taken by all the volunteers to continue practicing cleanliness in their daily lives and to spread awareness of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan among their peers and community.

The campus cleaning drive not only contributed to the beautification of the school premises but also reflected the commitment of the NSS volunteers towards the national mission of cleanliness.

 

 

Students were introduced to the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, focusing on reducing plastic waste and adopting eco-friendly alternatives. Students, teachers, and staff joined hands for a comprehensive cleanliness drive, cleaning the school premises and surrounding areas. Creative expression was encouraged through the creation of posters and pamphlets on important themes such as water conservation and eliminating single-use plastics, which were displayed to raise awareness. Additionally, separate awareness talks were organized for students of classes 6 and 7, highlighting the importance of personal hygiene. These sessions emphasized key habits like proper handwashing, the significance of bathing, and overall cleanliness. Younger students in classes 1 and 2 also received valuable lessons on maintaining healthy habits, which included classroom cleaning activities, instructions on proper toilet use, and videos on daily hygiene practices.
