Onam Celebration – 2025

The Onam celebration for the academic year 2025–26 at Irinjalakuda Bharatiya Vidyabhavan’s Vidya Mandir was held on August 29 with great enthusiasm and a variety of programs.

The event took place in the school’s open auditorium and was graced by the presence of Central Chairman Mr. T.A. Nair, Executive Vice Chairman Mr. Nandakumar, management committee members Mr. Vivekanandan and Mrs. Shobha Sivanand Rajan, Principal Mr. Biju Geevarghese, Vice Principal Mrs. Sujata, and PTA representative Mrs. Malavika, who all conveyed their Onam messages.

The school witnessed vibrant performances including Onam songs and dances. Adding to the festive spirit were traditional events such as the arrival of Maveli, Pulikkali (tiger dance), Pookkalam (flower carpet) competition, and Vadhamvali (tug of war).

The school Head Girl, Ms. Dhiya Pradeep, extended a warm welcome, while the Assistant Head Girl, Ms. Amitha Diju, proposed the vote of thanks.

The celebrations began at 8:30 a.m. and concluded at 12:15 p.m., with the Malayalam Department teachers coordinating the entire program.

Onam Celebration with Kindergarten Kids

The spirit of Onam came alive in our Kindergarten on 27th August 2025. The celebration began with a delightful skit on Mahabali and Vamanan, followed by the lighting of the lamp by dignitaries.

Our respected Chairman Shri T.A. Nair, Executive Chairman Shri C. Nandakumar, Principal Shri Biju Gee Varghese, Vice Chairman Shri Vivekanand, and Secretary Shri Rajan graced the occasion and shared their warm Onam greetings.

The cultural performances were the highlight of the day, featuring a group dance by LKG students, Thiruvathira Kali by UKG children, and a lively cinematic dance by Pre-KG students. Beautiful solo dances and songs added charm to the celebration.

The program concluded on a joyful note, filling hearts with the true spirit of Onam — happiness, unity, and tradition.
